Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki is expected to visit Damascus on Aug. 20 to met with Syrian President Bashar al Assad and other Syrian officials, KUNA reported Aug. 10, citing unnamed diplomatic sources.

The sources reportedly said the meeting will focus on steps to control the Syrian-Iraqi border to stem the flow of insurgents into Iraq.
